Ways to Give
How to give at Hope Simcoe
Here are four of the most popular ways to give to our ministry.
Make a one-time donation online
Giving online or through the Church Centre App is an opportunity for you to give via Credit Card. Please choose General- Simcoe from the Fund menu.
Pre-authorize a bank-to-bank payment
Pre-Authorized giving is an opportunity for you to give on a regular set schedule from your Bank Account. Please indicate Hope Bible Church Simcoe on form.
Give with e-Transfer
Interac e-Transfer is a free and efficient way to donate directly to Hope Bible Church Simcoe from your own bank. When sending an etransfer please include Hope Bible Church Simcoe on the memo line.
Give in-person by cash or cheque
For those that are not able to use our online giving options, we will have blank offering envelopes available. Please make cheques payable to Mission City Bible Church and write Hope Bible Church Simcoe on the MEMO line.
Giving
Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

FAQs
Why does it seem that I am giving to Mission City Bible Church?
As a new church plant out of Mission City, we are still supported and resourced through our sending church. While giving and donations still go to Hope Simcoe, they are currently redirected through Mission City in this season. When considering how to give, please specify your gift or tithe is for Hope Bible Church Simcoe.
How to give via e-Transfer?
We are excited to offer e-transfers. To do this, the following instructions must be followed:
1. IMPORTANT: Please be sure to include your full name and address in the message section of the e- transfer. Please also indicate that this donation is for Hope Simcoe. This info is necessary in order to issue a tax receipt for your donation. Some bank institutions have limited characters in the message section. If you are not able to fit your info in the message section, please send an email with your full name, address, date of the e-transfer and the amount of your donation to finances@missioncitybiblechurch.ca.
2. Add Mission City Bible Church as a new e-transfer recipient with the email address: etransfers@missioncitybiblechurch.ca
3. As you make the transfer, select Mission City Bible Church as the recipient (that you set up in step 1)
4. Please do not set a security question as Mission City has auto deposit set up.
How to give via Planning Center?
If you currently give through Planning Center you can go onto the app and change your donation from the Mission City fund to the Hope Simcoe fund - this will be made available after January 9, 2026
At this time Mission City will continue to manage all offerings and expenses until charitable status is established.
Which giving method should I use?
If you are currently giving online or are able to do so, it would be greatly appreciated if you could give in that way which will help in reducing administrative needs.
Guiding Principles for Giving
Hope Bible Church Simcoe Stewardship
- Member of Canadian Centre For Christian Charities
- Annual Budget Prepared
- Monthly Financial Executive Review
- Published Audited Annual Financial Statements
- Expense Authorization Process
- Confidential Donor Information
Annual Budget Process
Each fall, an operational budget is prepared for review, analysis, questions and approval by the Executive Staff and the Elders. Each ministry is required to present a budget alongside a ministry plan for the year. The operating budget is fundamental to our accountability, transparency, and integrity. Staff compensation is approved by Non-Staff Elders and is compared with industry standards in North America to ensure it falls within acceptable parameters when compared to the overall budget of the church.
Monthly Financial Executive Review
Monthly financial statements are prepared and compared to the operational budget to ensure spending is in line with the fulfillment of Mission City Bible Church's mission. Each quarter, as necessary, the operational budget is updated to reflect any changes in priorities throughout the year.
Annual Audit
To ensure maximum transparency and assurance, Mission City Bible Church retains an independent auditor to conduct annual audits of its financial statements. These financial statements are audited in accordance with Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) and prepared in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Historical audited financial statements can be accessed at the bottom of this page.
Annual Audited Financial Statements
To ensure that the church body is aware of the most recent financial status of Mission City Bible Church, we prepare Annual Audited financial statements. The Audited financial statements for the most recent year can be accessed at the top of this page.
Expense Authorization Process
Mission City Bible Church has a strict expense authorization to ensure financial accountability for operational and capital purchases. Purchases in excess of specific thresholds must be approved by the Finance Department and the applicable supervisor, and in some cases the Elders.
Confidential Donor Information
Donor information is kept is strict confidence. Per our policies, Elders & Pastors do not have access to donor information and this information is kept in strict confidence by our Finance Department staff. Donor information is not sold, nor is it made available without the prior consent of the donor except where disclosure is required by law. Any questions regarding the budget or the financial statements can be addressed to info@hopesimcoe.ca
Donor Restricted Gift Policy
Purpose:
To avoid the potential of being precluded from using restricted funds for a different purpose if a project is oversubscribed or is terminated.
Exceptions:
This policy will apply to all funds deemed for which the intended project has either been oversubscribed or terminated. The effective date of this policy will be April 27, 2021 and will apply to any/all donations received thereafter. Any donations to the building fund prior to the above-mentioned date will remain restricted and cannot be reallocated for other projects or initiatives.
Procedure:
The spending of funds is confined to Elder approved programs and projects. Each contribution directed toward an approved program or project will be used as restricted with the understanding that when the need for such a program or project has been met, or cannot be completed for any reason as determined by the Elders, the remaining restricted contributions will be used where most needed.
